A country cannot be good at a sport if people don’t take it seriously. There is no culture of playing football in most of China. And until recently hardly any Chinese played. Most Chinese people I have met in life. And I have met hundreds, don’t play football.
Yes attendance at games is going up. But I bet if you visited China you will not see vijana vijana playing football everywhere. That is the key. Football is best learned at a young age like 6 to 8 years old. People have to play the game. Just having large crowds at stadia doesn’t cut it.

Because most Kenyans don’t play cricket whereas almost every Indian plays and every secondary school in India offers cricket.
Its true that Kenyans get excited about cricket when the national team is good. But hardly any Kenyan plays. That’s why we are mostly bad at it.
