Why jungus give interviews in English and Tanzanians give in Swahili

There is no need for Kalembe Ndile to present in English. We all come out best when speaking a language that is closest to our mother tongue.

As an illustration, this is how many of us Africans sound to native English speakers

Here is Kagame doing his end of year address in Kinyarwanda. He sounds good and looks authoritative

I m a proponent of abolishing English in our country, but it is now water under the bridge.

BBI had that suggestion, but that would have made things worse for the future generation. Look at various case studies of Tanzania.

Funny! Because there was a day Uhuru addressed people in Kikuyu and guys, led by Alai, were over themselves with a big WHY??? They posited that he’s the president of all the tribes of Kenya, not just the Kikuyu!

We, Kenyans, ought to know what we want and stick with it. Consistency.

I thought about taking a proposal to the parliament to have them pass a law that compels every vernacular media station in Kenya to have a good length of air time when they do their broadcasting in other indigenous languages of Kenya and the ones who do newscasts they be compelled to have what they read in their vernacular interpreted in any other language! In the spirit of integration and cohesion.

All Rwandese speak kinyarwanda

Not all Kenyans speak kikuyu

O

Oh, I see!
I never knew this!!!

I am surprised you would suggest Uhuru conduct his affairs in Kikuyu. Trouble with your proposal is that not all Kenyans understand Kikuyu. In Rwanda, there is a uniform language spoken by all. Kind of like Kikuyu being spoken by Muranga, Nyeri and Kiambu

South Korea operates on Korean and Japan uses Japanese… You can’t blame Tanzanian problems on the language they use. Except for Arab speaking countries + Tanzania/Ethiopia/ER/Som all other African countries have a European national language. There are many that are in worse situation than TZ.

Kikuyu ni lugha ya kishamba though. Afadhali Kikamba au Kimasai

Unless you are self sustaining country like China or Japan, language barrier can place you on a backward footing. Sorry to say but European national language makes life easier for African countries otherwise how would Kenya and Uganda Communicate if we didn’t have English?

You guys are just lazy idiots looking for a cheap win. Vietnam was a poor, war torn country just a few years ago, now it’s joined the rich. While still operating in a Vietnamese with a difficult script.

Language is not the answer ! Again, compare African countries that use local languages to those that use colonial languages and you’ll see that it’s a very mixed bag. Language is not the answer !
