The other day I was watching a documentary about Kim Dotcom's tribulations, and at some point, he said that he realised the government was spying on him because he's an avid gamer. He's a hacker, so he could have probably figured it out anyway, but it came to him while he was playing a game online. He noticed a lag when playing, a very insignificant lag, lasting milliseconds in his words, but it wasn't normal. So he investigated and found out it was because the gubbermint was tapping into his network. My point is, as someone has pointed out, becoming an avid gamer or car enthusiast most times means you are equipped with some other skills.
