.....why would a qualified pilot want to be a policeman???

[LEFT]"A holder of two doctoral degrees, a qualified pilot and a mechanical engineer
are working as constables because of discrimination and irregularities in the police promotion
system, a meeting heard yesterday.

A member of the National Police Service Commission, Mr Murshid Mohamed, said irregular promotion of police officers is rife in the service. He told more than 500 senior officers, lawyers and members
of the civil society that his commission had come across cases of highly educated officers who were stagnant in junior ranks, while less qualified ones got promoted.

He singled out a case where the promotion of an officer with a doctorate was blocked. “We know of an officer who holds two doctoral degrees, a qualified pilot, a mechanical engineering degree holder and
others with Certified Public Accountant One certificates but they have been made to remain
as constables.
The promotions have been skewed,” he said…"

I think there are three people involved here

Most likely he was hired as a police airwing pilot and then for one reason or the other was assigned normal police duties and was forgotten there or maybe he refused to bribe his way to his rightful station.
With the legendary corruption in the force, the possibilities are endless.

I don’t know lakini a promotion comes with more than money… new responsibilities.

With the lack of enough PhD holders in Kenya why would anyone join the police rather than land into lecturing?

Its like Kenya ni story na kujuana, huyo alisomea u-pilot yet hana mtu wao in any airline amwingize job, akawa jobless,so he ended up having to settle for less

sad story

He dug his own grave,he should lie in it.
It shows lack of creativity and imagination for a degree holder.
This what 844 does to your brain if you let it.

Remember in primary school the question , what you want to be when you grow up? People have a passion; to be a doctor, policeman, pilot etc
Think along that line

Maybe he joined the force, enrolled in these programs akakwama kuwa constable, sadness of kulala inje kama lorry(polisi)

Ukiingia polisi kama uko na degree utatumwa hardship areas that’s for sure…

Hekaya omwami.

I have two friends who have Masters Degrees but are still in Police Force.
