Working out and alcohol

Part of this year’s resolution was to get even fitter. So daily in the evening I jog around 8km. Like any drunk fuck I love red meat preferably choma. However one week after beer na choma my weight starts increasing. So my question to those who go to the gym what kind of drink do you take that doesn’t impact on weight? Kwa wa maziwa na red wine kaeni pale…am talking about real men drinks!

When alcohol touches your blood, it inhibits any burning of fat in your body until it’s cleared from your system. So hakuna pombe afadhali ya kulose weight.

Just try and regulate your drinking eg no drinking the night before a morning workout.

You will find that the only drink the system allows is water and freshly blended fruit juices. Have days when you can indulge in akoho and different gyming days devoid of any devil’s sauce.

If you continue drinking increase your running kilometers to 20km

The only alcoholic drink that packs the least calories is Whisky - neat or over ice. Anything else and you will have to work 5 times harder in the gym to shed these empty calories. The problem with alcohol is not even the calories as per se, but the fact that is a nerve poison that inhibits the body’s ability to naturally regulate muscle-body fat percentage. Ndio maana unapate walevi wengi wako na unsightly man-boobs and vitambis ( especially beer drinkers ). The day i started really caring about my physique i just dropped alcohol. Halafu usidanganywe na mtu, there is nothing like taking alcohol in moderation.

Wacha zako boss. I workout on weekdays and take alcohol over the weekend. A good morning workout will easily get rid of the alcohol consumed over the weekend. Unasweat hadi kit inadrip.
80% of the guys at my local drink in moderation. We drink over the weekends only while watching games and walk or drive home comfortably. Each about five beers or 1-2 quarters of liquor. By 12 midnight, the pub is almost empty.
Only a few drink excessively, on a daily basis or until they cannot go home.

The two just don’t mix. You choose your poison.

By the way, try and cut out the red meat and opt for white meat. Limit its consumption to once or twice a month. This is for health reasons. I did that many months ago and have never felt better.

five beers in one sitting is nowhere close to moderation. Infact,that is straight out binge drinking

Yeh, for young guys learning the ropes of drinking, it is binge drinking. But for mature men over 40 years, five bottles of beer is moderate drinking. The heavy drinkers hit 10 and above.

first loosing fat is more than jogging and controlling your beer intake, but as a 20yr old bodybuilder who has to loose 15kg every 6 months for photoshoot reasons here is my advice

1)jog early in the morning when hungry- your body doesn’t have enough energy and will opt to conume the fat as a source of energy.
2)Track your calories- this is the best advice ever
3)avoid fatty foods and high caloric foods focus more on vegetables and fruits they get you full faster but contain lower calories.
4) Dont smoke
5) drink 4 liters of water a day.
