I had firestick 4k which I sold late last year, great streaming device. However, the thing only allows Dolby Atmos passthrough on Prime Videos and Plex, not Netflix. Also, I hated the process of sideloading apps that were not on its store.
I would highly recommend you import Chromecast with Google TV (the 2020 model) if you want a more powerful device that doesn’t try to undermine competitor services. Chromecast with Google TV cost $50 (Ksh5500), importing that will cost you around 7-8k total. Some Kenyans are selling it for ksh12,000, which is a rip-off considering the Firestick 4k cost $50 in US and 7k here.
Alternatively, you can get Shield TV Pro (what I use, but is too expensive for someone who doesn’t care about Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA passthrough).
