Journalist: Is the message of Rastafari that Jamaicans should go back to Africa?

Bob: Yes, forward to Africa. Not back! And that black man shall rule d’earth, one government!

I and I, vibration yeah ah, Positive!
I’m so glad I listened to Bob Marley in his lifetime, and was right here in Nairobi when he passed through, en route to Zimbabwe’s independence celebrations. I was only nine, and wondered, this is a king of a place called Reggae? Which kingdom be that. Then there’s a photo taken of him from the then waving bay at JKIA, with a KQ plane in the background. He was on the tarmac, looking up at the photographer. That photo sold in Nairobi FOR A DECADE!

Thanks for the pic man. There was another, taken just before this one, of Marley bowing to receive the flowers from the little girl. It featured a lot in the dailies. My uncle had just returned after 10 years in the US, and had bought the Zimbabwe single.
Good times, those. When Nairobi was nearly as organized as London (except for the overcrowding in the Kenya Buses!)
Cheers!
