Esther had just finished form IV and had come to stay at her sister's place as she attended college. Her sister, my neighbour was this happy-go-lucky woman who always partied every weekend and brought home a man every so often inspite of the fact that she had two young kids.

Esther was the exact opposite - quiet demeanor, hard-working and beautiful to boot. The children took to her like those huge flies take to a pile of shit! Ok! Ok! Don't bite my head off. Let me use a rosier phrase: like bees to a honey-pot.... Yada, yada, yada

Long story short - I thought I would impress her with an original poem, crafted in the most ingenious of ways. I could draw or copy some artwork on a piece of plain A4 paper in interesting ways, print at the center of the artwork and carefully trim it off.

As the title of this post suggests, things didn't really work out and sadly they never will - Esther succumbed to menengitis three years ago.

I was cleaning up the attic yesterday and came across one of those little gems from days gone by:

Was she a kao lady living in Nyayo estate? I banged her on the second day we met. In fact dry fry, sound tracks nazo. She died during in an operating theatre, Mola amrehemu.

Duudes!!! This was like thirteen years ago. Ala! Wengine wenyu hapa pang'ang'a and you didn't even know what a computer was by then!
