Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s agent, Mino Raiola, has reached a deal with Manchester United over the Swede’s salary with a move now hinging on talks between the striker and the club’s new manager, José Mourinho.

The 34-year-old, who is available on a free transfer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season, wants reassurances from the Portuguese that he will play an important role at Old Trafford next season. The Swede is not interested in being a back-up striker as he nears the end of his career.

Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs who have expressed an interest in signing the Swede but he has let them know that United are the only Premier League club he is interested in signing for.

A deal with United, however, also depends on Raiola getting a sizeable fee for bringing Ibrahimovic to Old Trafford and those discussions are yet to being. Raiola is in France this weekend so any deal taking Ibrahimovic to Manchester United will not happen until early next week at the earliest.

Mourinho and Ibrahimovic have praised each other since the latter got the United job, the Swede saying last week that he “had a fantastic time with him at Inter and we said when I left that we might work together again.” Asked at a Sweden press conference whether he had spoken to Mourinho in the past week, Ibrahimovic answered: “I have spoken to Mourinho every day since I left Inter. We talk a lot.”

Ibrahimovic had been looking for a salary of £220,000-a-week to join United and, while the club have agreed to those demands, Ibrahimovic still needs reassurances from Mourinho that he will be an important player next season in order to join.

The 34-year-old striker is currently with the Sweden squad preparing for their opening game of Euro 2016 against Republic of Ireland on 13 June.

The 34-year-old, who is available on a free transfer (A hot grab indeed)after leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season, wants reassurances from the Portuguese that he will play an important role at Old Trafford next season(Read: he will be guaranteed a retirement package similar to Schweinsteiger). The Swede is not interested in being a back-up striker (There goes Rashford’s playing time…loan looming…) as he nears the end of his career.

Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs who have expressed an interest in signing the Swede (Harry Kane laughing out loud) but he has let them know that United are the only Premier League club he is interested in signing for.

A deal with United, however, also depends on Raiola getting a sizeable fee for bringing Ibrahimovic Retiree to Old Trafford and those discussions are yet to being. Raiola is in France this weekend so any deal taking Ibrahimovic to Manchester United will not happen until early next week at the earliest.

Mourinho and Ibrahimovic have praised each other since the latter got the United job, the Swede saying last week that he “had a fantastic time with him at Inter and we said when I left that we might work together again(hehehe…yeah right).” Asked at a Sweden press conference whether he had spoken to Mourinho in the past week, Ibrahimovic answered: “I have spoken to Mourinho every day since I left Inter. We talk a lot.”

Ibrahimovic had been looking for a salary of £220,000-a-week (WTF!!! For a Retiree?) to join United and, while the club have agreed to those demands, Ibrahimovic still needs reassurances from Mourinho that he will be an important player next season in order to join.

You cannot depend on a teenager to win a season. Not taking anything away from Rashford, but we need a commanding presence on the pitch and in the 18 box. Somebody who can take headers and still a good striker of the ball and set pieces, all found in Zlatan. Another thing, Clubs are businesses, just wait and see the number of t-shirt sales and merchandise the Club will sell as a result of Zlatan.

Rashford can always come in to play games either as a winger or a substitute especially when Zlatan needs to be rested for bigger games. Manchester United is a rich club, plus the cost of having him is worth it with the business he is going to bring for the club.

Well, one philosopher’s intent was on nurturing the youth at the club. Here comes the one that prefers aged ones. Anyway, congrats on acquiring the services of Zlatan. Bora anakula mshande poa, he won’t complain (Falcao hype loading…)

Hehe…falcao was on another level…lets wait and see if it wont be worth it.

EPL 2016/2017 will be one awesome season. All these awesome signings

Epl ni ngumu hiii season

Zlatan for free transfer, absolutely. If Martial shirt sales alone raise £30 million then Zlatan shirts will even cover the £40 million Man Utd lost in not qualifying for CL. It will pay his wages and still bring millions for club and adidas.

As for tradition set by Sir Alex. Every few years he surprised many by picking veteran strikers at their peak that changed Man Utd history. Henrik Larrson loan from Celtic impact in winning the FA Cup. Larrson movement in the box during training inspired the young duo of Rooney and Ronaldo that the lesson rubbed on them. Sheringham transfer from Tottenham to be the main centre forward guided us to the treble win. Van Persie transfer that ended Mancini Ma City rise and we won back the EPL with 8 games to spare. Jose is just following Man Utd tradition and at the right moment.

Rashford goal rate of 1 in 2 chances rates him up there with the best but no manager is that foolish to leave to chance to expect him to lead the line a whole season, all competitions without a possibility of injuries. Rooney is now number 10 not a center forward, Wilson has yet to fully prove himself, Will Keane young bright career is blighted by injuries. Zlatan walks into the team to mentor these young strikers before his sunset years arrive.

Well said. Umetoa history ingine ya Manchester United ata sijawai skia. I see good things coming. Kwanza Rojo aende wakiwa na Darmian, if anybody had to go as much as I hate to think of it, Mata and Carrick. I would prefer if they stayed though. Finally we need some good defenders, midfielders and right winger.

Rojo is good only that LVG was playing as a centre back during the serious injuries to our defenders. He is Luke Shaw backup incase of injury in his natural position and a left back. Darmian had an OK season and he was always going to need at least 1 season to settle into EPL. He is natural with both feet. I remember in one game he started at his favourite right back by midway he was moved to Left back due to injury and finally centre back after subs. Such versatile defenders are rare and Jose will be aware of that. Its a long season this days, pace of the game, injuries, lack of form etc. For that reason Mata and Carrick experience is needed as well as their seniority at the locker room to guide the ever expanding youngsters joining.

United all season already had a squad to win the league but it need to gel and some players needed to improve their work rate, not everyone was playing 90 minutes but towards the end of the season there was a bit of consistency and confidence started building up. I believe the coming season will be a revelation.
