I think people should strike a balance. Save, but not everything you earn. Pay yourself everytime you earn something whether big or small. That is why some “poor” people drink alchohol or look for whores end month ikifika.

Now we know the amount of rent u pay

Thindigua wapi

Ngui wacha kuharibu thread na chocha kidogo…

Huyu pengine hata hajui rent ni how much.

It depends on the person receiving that cash, to some is a lot to others it isn’t enough to cater for his monthly expenses. It also depends on age and responsibilities, to a fresh graduate is a lot but peanuts to 45yr old man

@mturandom has written acres and acres on this. Labda @Azor Ahai can take over from him and give some insights.

Peasant with a rock-bottom self esteem Usijali, utainuka tuu

No more that 70K people earn 100 K per month salary in this country , most parents brought up their kids on less , so if you were brought up in Beverly hills usituringie …

Decent is relative. Kwa mtu anaishi korogocho, maisha ya 100k is decent. Kwa mtu anaishi Rosslyn, 100k ni poverty. You will debate all day because you don’t have the same perspective in this online forum. Huku kuna unemployed na multimillionaires, teenagers and octogenarians.

I believe 100k is more than enough if you are a financially literate young person without a high maintenance girlfriend or children. A good work+life balance. Spend 50k-invest 50k. In 12 months you have 600k invested. At a simple return of 10% you will have investments worth 660k. At that point if you are smart enough to avoid buying a car, you will buy a very good car later when richer.
