Its funny you say that, i remember in an argument once my wife trying to compare our relationship with our friend couples and i let her go on and on about how happy they are and how they look united and then it occurred to me that 3 out of 3 of the couples were actually married but were all living on different ends of the country due to work and only coming together for weekends etc.

I said in a marriage and if you have proposed to a poko and she has accepted she also know she has a role to play but you as the man has to do what i have said.

There is no evidence of biological relationship between gender and selfishness. Selfishness is a mix of temperament, life experience and upbringing.

Those are some of the general factors dependent on socialisation of an individual. However, women, like any other female mammal, only give a shit about their brood. Note that the brood does not reciprocate in the long run, unless it decides to do so for social reasons. A woman sees a man as a tool for bringing up the children and keeping herself safe/providing security(financially, physically), for survival of the children is dependent much on the welbeing of the mother. Thats why women will always say they want(security, caring man/one who will bring all the earned goodies to her). Men at the very basic level, are wired to think that there is something they should protect and take care of regardless of the ramifications(This is a fundamental weakness exposing them to exploitation). Is unfortunate, but thats how the perpetual cycle of life works. Nature has not time to make you feel good. A man can enjoy his life by being wary and moderating some of these thigs. He will have beneffited, but he will have sabotaged nature.
This is why some organisms are just an accessory to reproduction. The worker bee has no other business other than feeding a lazy queen and carrying her children around. Male bees also spend life fucking the queen. Reproduction of most organisms is built on this model. Similalry a dumb man will deny himself and spend his life revolving around a woman and her brood, and acheiving none of his goals, but having raised very disagreeable brats who later run to some other place to enjoy themselves, do their own stuff, raise some more brats. Alafu they later come back to send off the old man and his woman when they kaput out of lonliness or stress experienced in bringing children up.
Shall we just say that both men women are victims of biology? Without exception, living organisms need incentives, and often give incentives to others, to propagate. Without such incentives, no species propagation would take place. The incentive may be directed to organisms of the same kind or of a different kind or both. Most flowering plants need insects for fertilization. In exchange, the insects are rewarded with energy filled nectar. After the seed is fully developed, the plant needs to have it dispersed away from the mother plant to lessen competition and increase the chances of survival, a step that involves yet another incentive to a different kind of servant. When ripping into a ripe juicy mango fruit, you may be misled to imagine that you are operating under your own wisdom. However, the truth is that the mango tree is probably amused of this clueless man, who takes on the responsibility of spreading the seed in exchange for a few joules of energy.
In the case of men, the womanās biological package is what keeps you stuck to her, in the hope of getting more. In the meantime, you take care of the brood. On the other hand, the woman is under the mercy of her hormones, which will constantly push her to ensnare a suitable male to reproduce with. The end result is two organisms each trying hard to extract benefits from the other, while nature advances its gene propagation agenda. Summary: You are both slaves of a common master-nature.
