If it’s a limited company, what business do they conduct?

If a limited company receives cash, it should be for a sale or a loan. If it is some sort of donation, it should indicate from whom, and for what purpose. In both cases, it’s tax-deductible.

Limited by guarantee or limited by shares? They could still be a limited company carrying out charitable work.

I was addressing the issue of whether a limited company can carry out charitable work. As for tax exemption, why not, if the have applied to KRA and have been granted tax exemption status.
