i guess we’ll have to wait until it finally kills at least two white Americans before this vehicle is ever recalled. especially if it tips over while carrying a young, blonde, all American white girl “who had so much to offer the world”… a story the fuckers at CNN would broadcast to maximum effect.

Mgala muue na haki umpe. Toyota have just the perfect vehicle for our small capacity PSVs: Toyota Hiace Commuter van. Even comes complete with seats (I think this is optional) and I’ve seen some schools use it as school vans.

Shida yake ni bei. A cursory glance in olx.co.ke returns prices ranging from 3.1m to 3.5m which is quite substantial. So what do we do? Why, we do away with the prefitted seats and fabricate our own, transforming it into a 19-22 seater!

Compare that to an MIT grad:a simple, skinny kid with headphones on going to a glass like lecture room designed by a former student. yaani the place is designed such that they can spend several nights there doing state of the art research…clean, simple and modern surroundings na kajamaa hata hakana bag and he is going to class to design a logic gate for the next generation computer chip. and you’ll both graduate as engineers. 'tis a shame.

A hilux truck is basically a workhorse…kazi yake ni mjengo kubeba engineer, bush whacking ama kubeba simiti kidogo. The trucks have crazy power especially the unlimited 3.0 D4D variants and one has to be really careful and understand how the vehicle handles otherwise the chances of you flying off the road are quite high. But the new DMAX is quite the workhorse. Ranger is good but damn expensive…but i still prefer the Hilux due to the number of affordable mods i can run on it…

Notice I mentioned MIT in the same context as JKUCAT. I didnt hate on Kenyan. MIT is one of the best if not the best. And I said MIT doesnt build for commercial purposes in the say way JKUCAT doesnt. Being academic is one thing. Developing for commercial is whole other story. I can give you all the capital you want. An academic institution will probably never develop a product quick enough to consistently make a profit. And continuously adapt. MIT included. Thats why they dont venture commercially. I mean Nyayo Car had capital. Where is that project today? Realistically, even if that car didnt break down in Nyayo stadium, could they commercially produce the cars in large volume?
Brilliant projects they have. But they exist in books. Try building it then you will know.
