Yes. Article 97 (1) (b) of the constitution of Kenya 2010 on membership of the national assembly-

Forty-seven WOMEN, each elected by the registered voters of their counties , each county constituting a single member constituency.

I think they lied to me, then. Because I remember them saying that the seat will be reserved for the minority gender group in parliament, which happens to be women, but can also be men. It is curious to me because there are no women representative slots in the Senate!

maybe not but under Article 98 (1) (b) on membership of the senate, “sixteen women members who shall be nominated by their political parties according to their proportion of members of the senate elected in accordance with article 90” find their way into the senate - without anyone electing them.

Anyways! I really, REALLY don’t like that women representative position! I believe it is unnecessary, useless and a wasteful way of spending money that could be directed to more important necessities!
