I think John Magufuli is on top of that list. I pray for him, and thanfully his from the English colonies, if it was french he would have died in a coup a long time ago.
With all the resources that TZ have, TZ is supposed to be the richest country i Africa. Its among the only few countries where it has zero deserts, mine gold and diamond, act as the only access for the landlocked countries of the south, yet Tanzania still remains extremely poor. Go and see the poverty in Tandale, Buguruni, Kinondoni, Mwananyamala. Its horrible.
CCM was formed to fight for independence. Its policies have long been passed by time. They need to improve the lives of Tanzanians as opposed to issuing roadside threats.
What do you think Magufuli has been doing in his last 3-4 years? He has been fighting corruption and taxing those mine companies who have been stealing Tanzanias wealth for decades. His anti corruption nature has invited more investment in the mining sectors and even neighbouring countries such as DRC are going there to learn how they can create the same system that Tanzania is creating in the mining sector.
Tanzania is not poor because or Magufuli but because of incompetence of the previous president and Tanzania first embraced socialism which failed but managed to create unity amongst the people which will benefit the country if has a president like Magufuli who wants to develope it.
Here are some of the projects that Magufuli has done in Tanzania in the short time all without indebting themselves through loans like Kenya:
1-Construction of new Standard gauge railway(Electric) from Dar to Morogoro phase 1 and Morogoro to Makutupora(Dodoma).(In construction)
2-Renovating the old railway from Dar to Isaka, Tanga to Arusha.
3- Construction of new Airports and expansion of old ones in Mbeya, Dodoma, Kigoma, Tabora, Shinyanga and Mtwara.
4-Expansion of ports in Kigoma and Expansionof Dar port.
5-Construction of Stigler gorge Hydroelectric power Dam 2115 MW. ( In construction by Egypt’s Arab contractors and El Semedy ).
6- Construction of Hospitals and Healthy centers.
7- Re-establish Air Tanzania by buying 6 new plane. 3 Bomberdier Q400-8, 1 Boeing 878 dreamliner and 2 Airbus A 220-300.
Again Tanzania is not poor because of Magufuli and he is improving the country, but what you are expecting is him to have turned it into Wakanda while the previous presidents failed their job and he had to start close from the begining. Things are improving and Tanzania will go far with Magufuli. You need to study his action, its that of a leader and even when he engage with other African countries like he was the first to send aid to Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Malawi after the cyclone while the other african presidents were sending money to France so they could rebuild Notre Dame. He recently announced sending AID to Zimbabwe while they are suffering drought.
