To add on to what @Meria Mata put up, we motorcycle riders (siweki mbisha) have something called ATGATT (all the gear all the time ( https://rideapart.com/articles/atgatt-budget )) but I don’t know what’s appropriate for bicycles. This FT’s and umoinner’s and hannover’s have no respect for two wheel buffs so protect yourself to the best of your ability. Now get a small tool kit…those nuts and bolts on the bike are not so common. Like @Meria Mata has said…water cage is very important. Get a plastic one 
About guys ogling at your bike…hehehe that’s what I keep getting from guys, you will even find yourself getting compe from other riders that you overtake, ati “hiyo anawezaje nipita tu hivo wacha nimfikie” hehe.
