i am not supporting corruption but every kenyan is entitled for a bail unless you are a direct threat to other people’s lives or your own life or if you are flight risk. then this mega corruption cases are not that simple. The minimum they can take is one year. so let’s wait let’s not get emotional. The only thing we should expect in the short term is the stepping aside of the accused.

Bail can also be denied if the prosecution proves the accused has the capacity and inclination to interfere with evidence or witnesses, the difficult part is proving the accused would in all likelihood pursue that course of action but perhaps as a nation we need to find ways to keep accused persons off evidence and witnesses like immediate suspension of state officers facing criminal charges including those serving in Independent Commissions, the DPP was unable to keep Swazuri out of his office and for that the computers got burnt in a raging fire with all the evidence in them.

Strict timelines for economic cromes cases would help too, there is no point such cases being heard over more than 1 year in, the Judiciary needs to find ways to expedite these cases.
