Disco Matanga adherents should learn from Bob Collymore

Life is busy about the only time you meet relatives is in these functions like matanga and the rest. I think its kind of charming. I come from a culture where burial is no biggie but Ive lived with Coastal communities who have disco matanga for a week and even get one man guitar to sing , You would mistake it for a wedding. The Luo one is primitive but the Coastal version of it , is charming though Ive never been to one I ve only lived near people who would have these disco matangas. They have hadi a dj and food and mnazi. Its really interesting. Life is hard for the black man he needs a break to have a good time weneva he can get it. As an African I wouldnt be happy if me or any of my loved ones had a funeral like Bob Collymore where people cant even attend . Even the Bible says that God is honoured when a person has a good funeral. Hii foreign concepts zza sijui kuchoma watu achieni wahindi and these wannabe wazungus

I agree with you except the cremation part. Afadhali hiyo kuliko kukuliwa na maggots.

Spending money or borrowing does not make one poor, otherwise the USA would be the poorest nation on Earth.
We should encourage more credit facilities and more spending, employment itatoka wapi if everyone just saves.

I have said it many many times here: Black Africans were designed and programmed to live in jungles or in the Savannah. In those two environments food is in plenty, they only needed crude tools to hunt down antelopes or dig up tubers and roots, climbing wild trees to pluck a few wild berries did not require Whatsapp or 4G. The gods only gave us knowldge about herbs and to refine iron from certain black alluvial sands brought to the surface after big rains, nothing more

Secondly there is no Winter in the tropics. Winter Made Europe and Northern Asia develop because they neede food and heat for those 4-5 cold barren months, but not in the tropics

That mentality is in the gene level. We are not the same as Nothern Asians (Koreans, Chinese, Japanese) or the Caucasians. Just accept that. It is the bitter truth.

It’s not like this whole affair is cheap, I mean closing all shops for that duration is very expensive, I would reckon much more expensive than a week long typical African funeral would have cost.

People do things differently, lakini I don’t think a particular way is better than the other, as long as people are comfortable with it.

 1. House warming party
 2. Coming of age party

That’s why people group themselves according to their financial and social status.
It’s hard to be included in a group of high income earners while you are low income.

We have said it here countless times kunguru ni kunguru tu.
Kama wife ni wa kugawa atapeana kwa kanisa, kazini, kwa biashara na mtaani.
Si lazima iwe chama ndio imefanya akuliwe.

I wouldn’t say the same for chama cha AMG.

Jeez ateee Africans have low IQ? ya dunia ni mengi kweli.

Merry go rounds just like Ruracio have been abused by today’s generation. Merry go rounds/chamas serve another purpose. Women socialise, gossip and look out for each other, not just the money.
Ruracio…no need to insha how this beautiful ceremony has been abused by slay parents in their 40’s along with their slayqueen daughters.

And the funeral business is a very booming one, though very flooded currently.

Waafrika kazi ni kuzaa ovyo ovyo na kuketi kitako na kuanza njuko kuanzia mchana hadi usiku.

ile sumu huongelewa kwa hizo chama usitake jua. Kwanza huko ni kudiscuss people. Akitoka kwa hiyo chama he will start to compare you na Baba Oti. Ooh fanya bidii ununue TV kubwa kama ya Baba Oti.

Howdy Kush…mpiiienzi kanono

Kwanza giving undue credit to a FOREIGN entity while overlooking our very OWN Wangari Maathai who was fighting for OUR environment.

Not BRITISH interests in Ke.

Poa deer … so tuseme hii gym nmekuwa nkienda wewe huoni matokeo

Hihihihi ni vile hii jina and your grand self huwa siwezi shikanisha. So kaa tu kama Kanono.

It’s only because I love you, otherwise leo ungelala hukooo ---------------->> outside

Najua wee ni mgodi…shindwee wewe:D. Lakini sikuogopi. niko sure about this. :D

it is anathema to talk about death in some places in Kenya (Read Western Chamakhokho, Nyanza, etc). Personally, I cannot understand what the big deal with useless bodies is. Burn it or bury it after confirmed dead! The person cannot be inside the dead body.
