For starters, in the Airbnb business, why would you just “feel uncomfortable” about renting it out at a particular time for whatever reason? It’s already vacant and that’s your business, do you know the next tenants? Second, the caretaker says it’s a trustworthy customer, which means it’s a repeat customer, which means they already know he is babu without feigned surprise. The story seems simple and direct. The caretaker knew Babu coz he usually rented the neighbors BnB but since it had already been taken, the caretaker requested to the lady to do an offline booking for a client.

Yeah, I understand the business too. I just asked why one would reject a customer coz they felt “uncomfortable” , in a business that s/he’s operating, without knowing the client, or it is actually a load of made-up stuff.

She says she wasn’t comfortable with giving it out to an offline client and she usually never does but this was an exception.

But then, every government since Moi era had its own brand of madmen that gave people grief but couldn’t be touched because they knew someone up there.
