truth be told, this is why you’re not a decision-maker.
content is expensive. satellite links are expensive. staff are expensive. cost of doing business in Kenya is expensive.
so guess what they’ll do about it?
put it this way, do you go to laico regency for lunch/dinner 2-3 times a week? no
but you go to the kibanda on a daily basis (kibanda being your local lunch spot not necessarily an actual kibanda)
this is because you can afford it. you don’t make as much noise to laico, do you?
point is, i understand where they’re coming from. it’s pricey yes. but it’s coz it has to be. unless they remove some of the content that you so love.
remember when safcom was 30bob a minute? because it had to be. now it’s 4 bob. when the environment changes, you benefit.

so, when Laico has only five customers that can afford their (luxury) services do they continue raising their tariffs every time their costs of production rise, so that they are left with three customers that can afford? Do you then spread your overheads on the remaining three?

these guys operate like whole of Africa even if they let like 1country enjoy their services for free they can’t feel a bitch in their financial yearly report

My friend, you don’t seem to understand how businesses operate. Try to educate yourself on the whole concept of marginal revenue and fixed and marginal costs. So what happens when more and more customers opt out due to higher charges? Do they recover their overheads by continually overcharging the remaining customers?

Let them be. Hata kimeumana huko. Recently they dropped their decoder prices by 50% to get more customers. It all has to do with the price hike and EPL channel changes which rendered Compact plus useless (most subsribed).

Huku paipu is the norm of the day.
all flats hav around 10 premium channels hakuna haja ya decorder
