Fame ni Mbaya

Safi …kuna beshte nmetumia amewahi…chonjoh forester…mimi ata nko woyes

Kenyan athletes have it tough… Ethiopian athletes were the same before they group themselves together and started investing all that capital. Most hotels and restaurants in Addis are owned by them. And they also educate youngsters who run internationally on how to spend there winnings and how to earn more after racing.

In Kenya an athlete wins a marathon and before he lands JKIA people are already begging him for dough. And when he invest he buys land which will bring him little ROI so he can farm. When he could have invest that dough into manufacturing potential and earn steady capital.

kenya people don’t respect other people’s sweat. ata ukiuza kashamba kako relatives wanaona watoto wao hawafai kukosa fees na uliuza shamba. uko na pesa. pastor anaanza kuona io uko nayo ni madharau, unatoa sadaka ya 200 na kila mtu anajua uliuza shamba 800k? in kenya you cannot eat your bread in peace. so many fake friends want to eat your money. your own mother will start to undermine the mother of your children fighting to control you.

Nice discussion. I like it.

Jambo old friend

A lot of these Kenyan athletes are also signed up with foreign trainers/agents and academies that foot 100% of their bills when they are still upcoming and not making any money. They cover all your training costs, travel, hotels etc. But when you do hit it big, a big chunk of your earnings goes back to them. The life of an athlete is very short. 2-3 years at the helm. The peak of your earnings. Not merely enough to support the next 65 years.

Is this really true? I used to watch her all the time. Great runner.
