It’s definitely the old way of doing it in Kikuyu culture but it takes longer to heal and is more painful which is why many modern parents now choose the hospital non complicated method.

Only the older generation or really cultured Kikuyus can relate.

Not all of them but there is sizeable number … its mainly practiced in area like limuru,kijabe,kimende,kikuyu & githuguri …

Ngwati in Greeks land ni hekaya. They disappeared in the 60’s, but in parts of meru some middle aged men have them.
