Yours truly has always suspected that Baba’s real intention is to pull a classic, devilish move on JP (and not necessarily UK, he is not game here, may be a pawn/collateral), much like the one he pulled on KANU in 2001. JP is growing so grounded and mighty as to threaten to become ‘Kenya’s ruling party,’ akin to SA’s ANC. To Baba this is an unimaginable and totally unacceptable prospect. Thus JP must be destroyed by any means necessary.
But destroying JP can be such a herculin task and can remotely be compared to cutting down a Mugumo tree with a razor blade, as one wiseman once put it.
So what is Baba to do? Don’t be fooled; there’s a PLAN, and this is it: Baba decides to heed to the old saying, ‘if you can’t beat them join them,’ only with his tongue in his cheek. Baba has already embarked on a plot to get as close as possible to JP, win confidence of its top guns (they are already dancing themselves lame), then infiltrate and fully entangle his tendacles with every JP machinary…and what a better ‘open door’ to launch this plot than endearing himself to UK and winning the latter’s full confidence?
What JP operatives are ‘yet’ to discover is that Baba has a ‘suicide bomb jacket’ on and fully set up. When the right time comes he will blow up their ‘ruling party with a solid, long term succession plan’ into a thousand tattered bits. UK has not much to lose in this ‘hunger game,’ but WSR has everything to lose…remember what RAO said just the other day? ‘Ruto anafikiri anaweza kuwa rais wa Kenya bila mimi?’
Baba deeply loathes the idea of a WSR presidency. That a ‘disgraced knight’ bypassed the ‘king-in-waiting’ to rise to the throan would be an extremely painful and too humiliating a narrative to Baba’s godlike ego.
