Those canopies also obstruct the view. I don’t think everyone, especially tourists, would enjoy the shade.

Kenyan people have this idling and gossiping weakness and the idea of having the shade there is just to find a place where they shall be meeting to gossip and idle away. Badala ya MTU aende kwa nyumba/entertainment joint after work.
