Problem with US and Israel is that they need a good excuse. Like if Iran downed a fighter jet or a serious US asset which would get congressional approval. Or if Iran bombed mainland Israel like it says it will. But instead Iran will offer empty threats so US will only be asked to de-escalate everytime they threaten Iran.
