There are very many cows belonging to bigwigs huko. There is a big man who has privatized a big gava farm where some of the nomads used to graze in times of scarcity.

Guys should also note that cows have become a new currency for money laundering so bigwigs wananunua na kupeleka laikipia.

When are the leases for some of these farms expiring? Which would be a good way to muscle in on the ranches by local Politicos.

That ADC ranch since time and immemorial has as had security 24 hours. Local herders/big cattle guys have access that’s how the peace has remained.
But the communities next door have been blocked from accessing the ADC ranch and that has caused tensions for years.

The government has totally ignored to help improve the livestock industry and hence these clashes that even the Arabs exploit buy high quality beef for cheap.

I believe they expired early 2000’s but likely they have been renewed.
