This just paints the picture of how high the dependency ratio in Kenya is. We have more older people out of the workforce and young people who’ve not yet joined the workforce than ever before. The population in Generation Y are overburdened to support the other generations yet they are the minority and our country’s social security system is basically non existent hence the increased poverty levels amongst the older generation.
