Yes Israel has alwaays wanted war with Iran. Given that Israel has nukes and Iran does not, Israel can easily win the war but loose the long term battle. Destabilizing Iran would very costly. The whole region would become a total theater of war. Can Israel hold it’s flanks in such a scenario? The risks therein will prevent Israel or USA from attacking it.

The conclusion here is that despite the top military weapons that both Israel and Saudi Arabia get from USA, both those countries know Iran is not a joke when it comes to war. Even USA is unwilling to go to war with Iran despite the fact that Iran trains, funds and provides other support for Hezbollah and the Yemeni Houthi rebels.They see how Iran was able to persevere the long war with Iraq which was heavily armed by western nations and particularly the USA and realise war with Iran is not a walk in the park.

To understand the complex situation in M.E read widely from both sides. Al Saudiya TV from Saudi Arabia, Press TV from Iran and of course Aljeezera of Qatar. Not just the documentaries but interviews. Then read a lot of biographies from leaders of the region. That’s when you will realize Yemen isn’t a country. Its different regions that experimented on unity but one side decided to take all and kill the others instead of sharing power. Iran controls half of Iraq directly. Iran revolutionary guards now control the whole of southern Syria up to the foot of Golan heights which the usa has now proclaimed belongs to Israel. Iran citizens are the liberals of ME and not as radicalized as citizens of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Morocco. Those three countries have monarchs and leaders that are puppets of the usa and support their usa foreign policy. However its citizens are always planning an uprising against their government and kings such that the usa Intel community spends $ billions in helping them at domestic spying to reveal plots before they mature.

It has worked due to the large population, strategic location and ambiguous leadership structure. The Ayatollah is the head of state but also religious leader. He commands the military, government and mosques. In the military, generals are picked by him and given free hand to run it. Ayatollah only decides on policy, whom and when to fight. The government is run by an elected President but the Ayatollah has veto powers over policy. President has management role. In religion the Ayatollah commands all and everything. All these leaders and players meet at the governing council and decide the way forward for the country. The decision there are usually well thought and foresight takes precedent all the time. That’s why it working. Its not overly dictatorial but more democratic than monarchies of the region. The decision also binds all as they are agreed mutually. On self reliant, Iran 80 million citizens is a big market on itself. They spent the little they have to reverse engineer tools, machinery and technology to increase local production without importation. They are the largest crop producers in M.E. They have maintained and expanded their infrastructure despite sanctions. The government still performs its social and administrative functions despite sanctions. In the last 5 years its growing not collapsing forcing the usa to shift to economic and currency sabotage to stop them. Blocking oil exports and halting Iran currency from the usa global financial systems like swift so that their currency can’t be widely accepted. Iran, Venezuela and Zimbabwe suffer the same problem. Make their currency worthless despite economic and production at home. Iran reverse engineering of North Korea nuclear reactor put it one step from weaponization of warheads. They reverse engineered F5 and F14 tom cat jets the usa sold to the shah in 1970’s. They have built their own missile defense and attack systems fro Russian variants. They build their own attack submarines. They are building their own frigates ships, tanks, armour and now stealth plane. If the progression continues without being stopped they will be a self made power to take on the 1 trillion Saudi expensively equipped military thanks to USA defense industry.
