Nursing is just an entry job but it’s getting harder to get these types of jobs because they sealed the loopholes. So guys have settled on becoming counselors for the mentally disabled people. Where you watch them, feed them, wash them, restraint them when they go crazy etc.
Other options are to become an Uber or Lyft drivers where you work your own hours and you can also go to school and quickly move up the ladder. The best part about these jobs has you put in a position to talk with people who could one day improve yourself upwards.

Just to help, there are Kenyans who are accountants, lawyers, school teachers, IT professionals, engineers, in social and Public service, nurses, doctors, college professors, pharmacists, businesspeople, and several other careers. In my opinion people choose nursing because amongst other things you can get a job with variable hours and with decent pay. But you dont have to become a nurse. We already had an advantage of speaking English so all you have to do is learn how to speak clearly so the locals can get you. People from non-English speaking countries eg China, Latin Americans have bigger issues in this respect. Just like a couple talkers said above, you have to be extremely resilient to make it. You have to be the best in your field and continuously so. Once you step in the borders, every Kenyan is the same whether you went to “Breiburn” or Thika High. In fact people from Thika high adopted and adjusted better and faster than the former school.
