very nice but the elephant in the room is usually not the machinery but too many licences and cost of power. process of licences is hectic and too pricey for a new entrant, also market entry is not straight forward,some regulations are meant to lock you out, some supermarkets wana insist uwe eu compliant unless you plan to sell in neighbourhood kiosks.

Buda boss not so long ago many small farmers all over Kenya used to sell milk from their homes. Wakulima,wadogo.

The law was passed sijui that milk is dirty, no more HAWKING of milk, do not keep cows in the estates… kidogo kidogo arose the company today called BROOKSIDE!!!

Juzi tu, some guys came up with the idea of milk booths from China to help farmers. Si wote waliambiwa hio maziwa sijui ni chafu, sijui it is not tested…no more milk booths. :D:D:D:D

But those ones are a not for a starter… local stores are the way to go to establish a foot hold

Good thread btw. Is there anything on fertilizer production especially industrial production of organic fertilizer? IMHO fertilizer production needs to be the cornerstone of manufacturing in Kenya. Not assembly of overpriced cars
