Medical cover options

if you are not aware ,jubiklee is the largest composite insurance company in E.Africa, they have a very strong client base ,but their covers are very expensive, hardly will they fail to pay but for sure,Jubilee ni ya matajari

Apa insurance is managed by Kenyans although its muhindi owned{Ashok Shah} they have the best option cover, talk of maternity and maternity related complications, they have a wide panel and buying their product is not in vain.

AAR is good and we should wait for their new product that they are about to launch

the best is jubilee and resolution health,but,they are very expensive,unless ni company go for APA there have a good panel and a good rate,they are the only people who covers maternity related computations {in-case you have a family}

Am seeing covers of around 50-60k per year among the ‘best’. My question is the terms, can the payments be spread ama ni one off?

Hi People, saw your thread online. Jubilee Insurance have updated cover with “JCare Enhanced”. The cover has been enhanced by higher sub-limits and, inclusion of pre-existing conditions such as congenital conditions. They have also introduced a KShs 500,000 “Family” limit for Inpatient Cover. The Out-Patient cover, Maternity, Dental & Optical remain on a “Per Person” basis.

From the previous quote, assuming an Age bracket of 31-40 years, spouse and one child, they would quote as follows:
Inpatient Cover: Classic - KShs 500,000 per Family per annum
Principal 14,200
Spouse 11,900
Child (1 mth-17 yrs) 7,200

Outpatient Cover: Classic - KShs 50,000 per person per annum
Premium <40 years 18,800

Pre-existing conditions, chronic conditions, congenital conditions, HIV/AIDS and related condtions are subject to a waiting period of 1 year.
Cancer treatment is subject to a waiting period of 2 years.
Organ transplant is subject to a waiting period of 1 year

These three medical conditions (quoted above) have been allocated 50% of the Inpatient cover. That’s very good!

The other issue coming up, due to increase in stress-levels, is Psychiatric conditions, which have a waiting period of 1 year. A sub-limit of KShs 100,000 is allocated.

Further, we can sign you up with AMREF air & road rescue; very cheap as a rider.

@FirstLibertyKenya can you answer about payment terms. And tell us who you are, also anything that can raise a single strand of eye brows is treated as hekaya and requires evidence.

@FirstLibertyKenya can you answer my query about payment terms. And tell us who you are, also note that anything that can raise a single strand of eye brow is treated as hekaya and requires evidence.

And also fafanua hio cover ya 3m.

Is there any cover with a limit of say 10M and payment of about 100- <200k a year? Also are these covers ‘international’ - which ones cover treatment sought outside Kenya?

Hamjamboz People!

@Web Dev - “Payment terms”: Depending upon the Premium Payable, Insurance Premium Finance can be arranged T&CA

@Web Dev - “Evidence”: new word learnt, Hekaya, I’ve uploaded the Jubilee JCare Enhanced brochure, for your discernment.

@kijanamrefu - “Fafanua hio cover ya 3m”: There are unique advantages with the 3m & 5m covers, in that both have provisions for you to choose a “Standard Private Room” upto KShs 12,500 AND an Economy Air Ticket (return) for evacuation within Africa (South Africa), India and Pakistan.

The waiting period remains unchanged, but the Pre-Existing Condition limit is KShs 500,000 for Inpatient Cover.
For the under 40 years bracket, charges are as follows:
Principal 27,200
Spouse 22,800
Child 13,900

The Outpatient benefits are KShs 80,000 per person @KShs 22,500 per person under 40 years

The Maternity Limit is KShs 120,000 @ KShs 29,700 - Very Good Deal!

@evroza - “International Medical Covers for Kenya Residents Only”: I have Saham Assurance Gold Cover of KShs 10m @ KShs 57,750 for the 31 - 50 years age band. That’s 50% below your budget!!! It is limited to India.

@evroza - There are other options. Do you have a preference?

With ALL medical covers in the Kenyan market, please note that the FUNERAL COVER is very very low, below KShs 200,000. You need a FUNERAL PLAN, and/or other Life Insurance/Personal Accident combined in your Insurance Plan.

yes, that Sam Gold sounds good. DO they have any reservations concerning pre-existing conditions?

Great info…can someone expound more on resolution health.

Avoid UAP at all cost my friend. They are notorious for making any excuse not to pay claims. I have three cases on them as we speak. Worst they will withhold information while happily accepting your premiums only to disappoint you when you need them most. Best advice, start saving some good money in a account you can easily access incase of emergency, make a target of 1m for you and your family. you will have piece of mind and if things get thick you can easily fly to India/Sa/UK. which might be cheaper and a surprise to many.
