My view was that western pundits were pre conditioned to the belief that academics in developing countries didn’t have the requisite intellectual mettle to understand their (westerners’) arguments. The african problem is cultural, and they imported it to wherever they went including the US.
Most africans are cultured to believe that their destiny and everything they do is determined by the immediate society rather than the individual, whereas wealthy and resourceful societies emphasize that an individual is the master of his own destiny. People who have made the west what it is are just wild card characters with fringe behavior. they are outliers. Africans lack that taste for variety, exploration, adventure. If an african is doing something out of the ordinary, he probably copying a western idea. Thats why an african thinks moving to america or uk and living a white man’s life is progress or getting ahead.
The other problem is that the western society is materially well off, but is this the measure of happiness?. Is it the ultimate objective?
Is material things the ultimate and exclusive goal of an individual in life? Is the pressure that the western societies live with worth the availability of material things? Do you envy being an american man doing the same job you do right now?
If you do a little more research you will understand that Watson was not giving an opinion rather an observation based on various statistics. We all know environment plays a big role in epigenetics.So he shouldn’t be stripped all his life’s achievements just because he made a scientific observation. If the data was saying otherwise and he still kept believing that Africans have lower Iq that that would be justified. We can’t just refute concrete scientific facts just because they are not in line with our socialistic belief system.

Its true, am a black human and I know that as blacks we have a big problem. Its not about IQ, as that only measures academic stuff leaving out some other important human traits.
Have you ever wondered, why is it that whenever an African man is found, there is always poverty, diseases, death, primitivity and horrible living standards. As Africans, we often cry that our resources were plundered by the west hence our current state of poverty. However, look at anywhere the black man resides outside Africa, its absolute chaos. Haiti, Jamaica, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands.
