To be quite frank I considered hawking a pseudo scientist. he was a darling of the media in his sickly years. I his final years, I considered him an absolute charlatan compared to a genius like Enrico fermi and others of such pedigree. he liked making news with proclamations and cool points. real scientists have very solid ideas and put forward just a few times in a lifetime.

A lot of science involving the cosmos is just theoretical stuff. No experimental work has been conducted to prove all these theories flying around. However, simple models developed in science laboratories and computer simulations give some credence to the theories.
