Private guards manning important and key buildings will now be armed

This is a good move that should be well executed.
If UG gives guns to guards , sembuse Kenya… .
Though they should not be given automatic rifles or pistols.

If well carried out, this will deter almost 90% of stupid thefts that are carried out by teenagers from Eastlands using pistols and toy guns…

Ukweli Wafula na Simiyu sasa wataanza kudai chai kwa gate ama ukule ndengu

Is the aim to stop terrorists or armed robbery? Well, there was a bank in that compound and it was guarded by armed police.

Anyway, let us see what comes of it. Terrorists have attacked police stations not once, not twice. They annihilated an army base, so this move alone can never stop future terrorist attacks if any one such attack is not discovered before DDay

:D:D:D trust me could be worse. Problem is thugs there are very well trained and armed with very sophisticated weapons…watch how they blow up atms and cash in transit vehicles, some of the thugs are former militia in countries like Angola, Mozambique and ex police from zim. To deal with such SA had to arm their private security guards…but the thugs still rule the streets with impunity.

What people dont understand is that its not an issue of arming the current guards as they are. First they have to employ trained people who are trained in arms prefarably ex military. Secondly, these armed guards must be remunerated at a higher scale prefarably close to what policemen earn. Remember institutions wishing to hire armed guards will also pay higher fees to the security companies. Currently all banks and casinos hire 24/7 police guard for their premises from the government through the local Ocpd. So there are enough customers to fund the industry while we will relieve these policemen to serve the public in patrols. Dont forget the number of officers manning vip’s homes

Ujinga ndio these leaders have. Adding a problem to a problem. How about they try and figure out how illegal guns & terrorists get into the country.

Hapa kuna mkumbwa ameona chance ya kutengeneza pesa.

Food for thought…hapo sawa :hotsprings: :fuelpump:

kneejerk reaction! the guards should be getting better training on profiling people and how to identify suspicious characters, cctv monitoring etc - most cctv’s are never monitored. Give them tasers and not guns, they can equally do a good job.
