This is how it happened.

Neibas left the harmless snake as they moved. Crazy woman gets brainwave; why not collect the poor snake and dump it in her toilet and get free publicity and possibly money for her story? She could even sue the neibas for ‘endangering’ her child…

No way a python can climb up the toilet pipe up to the bowl - IT WAS PUT THERE and then the poor boy was sent in.
