The problem with Ruto is whether he will be able to keep his hands clean between now and 2022. Everyone knows he is corrupt, a landgrabber and a major tenderprenuer in GOK and he is likely to be caught in another major scandal if he is unable to control his evil side.
He has never kept his hands clean since YK92 and hes now DP, why would he keep them clean now?
Times have changed, some the of the things guys like Ruto used to do during the 80s and 90s can`t be done so openly today. But some of these guys still wanajidanganya they are demi gods.
Ruto with his powerful position in the Rift Valley was taken to court and still lost a 100 acre plot of land he had grabbed from an IDP during the last post election violence. Such cases can easily lead to his downfall especially if the victims of his crimes is a member of a community he expects to get votes from in 2022.
For example if he is suspected of the murder of another luhya like Jacob Juma close to the elections he will loose the luhya votes and that may cost him the presidency.
