Money talks bullshit walks.

How about scholarships for those with first class and second upper?

With that class he needs to work in the field for a year or two and apply showing his achievements in the field. That is mainly for the elitist unis and scholarship application. For the small unis, that class is still doable. In the states state universities can offer him a place… Oh and they are cheaper.

Kabisa! And for engineering courses, they deem our capacity as low so he may be burdened with extra classes at undergrad level to match up, but if he really wants it let him go for it, the opportunities are great in STEM ( science, tech, eng, and math). A naija doctor who was my classmate wanted so much to practice in US and he had to do six years (plus two for masters in an unrelated field makes eight years) and he did it.

Jkuat has this funny clause where they say you will be admitted for masters immediately with second lower if you have a published paper

That is the standard requirement but if you are not in academia, your “body of work” counts. Published paper assumes during undergrad you had an interest in research and managed to publish a paper, but two years work experience in the said field compensates., but it ain’t straight forward coz your case has to be presented at a departmental meeting and your CV discussed to see if your experience gives you depth that equals a published paper e.g an experience of two years in a project spanning a district with a budget of say five million s a project officer is sufficient for entry into project management masters degree, or why shouldn’t a high school teacher with two plus years experience not he admitted for M.Ed?
