There’s a term I once came across, the ‘petrol-dollar’ in some documentary whose title I forget. The minute Gadaffi, and Saddam before him, began demanding oil payments in €, their stay in power became untenable. It’s instructive that the two countries that led the attacks, the U.S. and UK do not use € as their legal tender and the first order of business of the ‘coalition forces’ on landing in Baghdad was to secure the oil ministry even as other offices and ministries were looted and burnt.

That may however not be the full story but it certainly is a major part of it.

Gaddaffi went further and tried to make africa have a common currency to bargain with other player in the market. and boom he became a wanted and must die enemy.the trade all over the world is to be based on the petrol -dollar non negotiably.

ISIS is just Saudi, Turkey and USA. A group cannot accumulate such power within a short time without some governments in the region supporting it.

Halafu, Saudi is trying to assert its dominance in the region as the most powerful state but it fears Iran’s influence in Yemen, Syria and Iraq where there are considerable Shia populations.

True. Kwanza Turkey haitaki kusikia hiyo story, ndiyo maana it offers safe passage to new ISIS recruits going to Syria. There’s also evidence that shows injured Daesh fighters getting treatment in Turkish hospitals that are near the Syrian border. The Middle East is fucked for the next five to ten years.

Of course. In every conflict there’s millions to be made. Weapons will be sold, natural resources (read oil) mortgaged, not to mentioned even more millions to be made in the post-conflict reconstruction.

Defeating isis can be difficult since they blend in with the civillians in the areas they occupy and therefore you cant just bomb them because the civillian casulties would be very high, they are like the hiv virus. As for the weapons isis earns alot of money from oil which they sell very cheap ( about $20 per gallon) they also savaged alot of weaponly from the iraqi army, in mosul alone when the iraqi army fled they left about 2300 humvees which are now in the hands of isis.
