You don’t seem to understand where Raila is coming from. It’s do or die for him, it’s all he thinks about, dreams about, cares about. He also has this strong desire for revenging for his dad whom he feels was terribly betrayed. You do not know,he’s only learnt to use the institutions he has infiltrated most recently because Uhuru does not know what to do with the Majority they had at Bunge in the first term. Look at the Kibaki/Moi era and the people who they had in the NIS,Judiciary,Military,Treasury etc. Ask yourself why all police are assumed to have a similar Kalenjin accent. Ruto is learning a lot from Uhuru’s mistakes and if he ever sits on the throne it will be Plata o plomo for whoever gets in his way.

Luos have never had one of their own holding the high office and that could explain the crazy urge. The issue of little influence, is brought by the new constitution but in the past it was apparent as you’ve rightly stated up there,that Nyeri residents would benefit more during Kibaki’s era and the Kalenjin during Moi era. It is a matter of perception but you would only experience it if you’ve had one of your own up there.

50% is too much. There’s a national govt to take care of. Half is too damn much!

In 2016/17 the % County Allocation was based on the last KRA audited revenues which are 2013/2014 and it’s based on National Revenue which is just the tax collected. 300Bn against a National Budget of 2.8T (10-11%) is a joke considering all the devolved functions.

The rest of the 90pc is left in the hands of the executive and tenderpreneurs like Wanjigi and Kabura due to an incompetent Executive.

I believe if any development is to be witnessed then this amount needs to go up. More resources,more functions.

Uhuru was only nominated just the other day by Moi after losing in his own yard. He has had everything literally handed to him. We all know the circumstances under which he became Deputy PM and then the ICC issue that tied him to Ruto and thus the Kalenjin vote.

Raila never relied on his second name and has been at it for almost 4 Decades including plotting a military coup at the age of 36 against the Moi government;he’s self made. He’s unpredictable and a political genius.

You forgot to mention that Raila is a sore loser.
