EACC structure is flawed, commissioners who are supposed to be like a board to supervise and direct the institution. Those get picked by Parliament but end up being part of political influence directly or indirectly. President Uhuru tried to put a neutral person like the retired Archbishop. The jury is still out on that move. The CEO is also nominated by President Uhuru but vetted by Parliament. Current CEO was a no nonsense man at NIS. I still expect a lot from him at his new post. Now that the top position looks to be settled well then the broom should have moved to professionalism of staff. Since EACC inception past leaders put their own in EACC to be their eyes, ears and do their bidding. Nyayo put all his men there so that it was toothless, Kibaki men also followed Nyayo footsteps and everyone in grand coalition had their own people there. EACC needs to be restaffed afresh.
