After ordinary whites started coming to America, they wanted an America that looks like the Europe they came from.
However many of them couldn’t wash away their black history. So each country looked for a way to deal with its black problem. Argentina went for genocide, Colombia and USA chose segregation (apartheid), Brazil and Cuba chose racial whitening.

Racism in Brazil is different from that in USA . In Brazil money can whiten or blacken you. If Neymar is poor he’s black if he becomes rich he’s white. Just like in Kenya where most models actors tv presenters are lightskins in Brazil being lighter gives you an advantage. Being white is a social rather than a racial status. While the USA has open racism Brazil has silent racism and racism is not a common topic in media.

African man with a British White woman is probably one of the most common thing more than African man with a French White woman. I had a great conversation about this with an african women in U.K how many african men (second generation, born there) date white british women. Its even worse for Jamaicans, more than 50% according to a survey done 10 years ago were in relationships with white british.
