I think most of those figures are given by NGO’s, there is a very big slum economy that they take advantage of.

This whole rot can be blamed partly on National Housing Finance, Ministry of lands, and whoever the f**k was the Mayor of Nairobi from 1963 to 2018. A big chunk of the blame also goes to Kenyans themselves. We as a country have accepted some deplorable situations as a normalcy we can live with. It’s even more sad that we brag about having one of the biggest slums under the sun

And we bring tourists to view our misery in the slums bila aibu.

Ile shida kubwa na kilimo (actually kila kitu Kenya) ni mabroker na cartels; mkulima ako at the mercy of the fuckers. If mtu angekuwa na uhakika that your effort and harvest will eanr a fair price, hata mimi ningekuwa nimeenda kulima, away from stress na costs za jiji. But since county zetu wanajali tukuongeza rates as opposed to boosting the farmers, hakuna usaidizi itapatikana.

Lakini bado is not as bad as living in a slum. Hata kama farming brings little its better than living hand to mouth in kibera where your family’s diginity is destroyed by poverty.

More than 25 million people in Kenya are still defecating in the open, overcrowded Kibera alone has an estimated 200,000 people defecating in plastic bag next to their bed rather than using a toilet.
