Ancient people had had a discovery of something we do not know; that is the reason they were never interested in the path of this technology we have taken. When you look at ancient ruins such as pyramids and the size of thise building blocks it indicates they had no problem in lifting and transporting 10k ton stone block. This explains why they never bothered to invent trucks, trains and cranes. They were operating in a different capacity, they knew something we missed. Could we in future will discover this and all our technology advancement become useless.

The christians on this thread show why no one should take the bible seriously. They don’t take it seriously themselves. Inconvenient passages can always be explained away as metaphors. The funny thing is that they can’t tell you which method they use to determine which passages are literal and which ones are metaphors.

It’s a just a convenience to them. They always suspend it as they wish

HEHE, the context of the story is not the building reaching the heavens (by the way, heavens in this case is not heaven but the skies), so God is not offended if you reach the moons or mars, otherwise why did He give man dominion over His works?
Lets read the beginning of the verse

now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. This is the main thing we should focus on. Now imagine if the entire generation has one mindset to revolt against God completely , could God’s work of salvation work? where could He pick prophets, to talk to the people? whom could He have picked (case of abraham) to make a covenant with the people, if all of them had the same mindset(governance)?(and remember at this time sin had entered the whole world, and sin controlled many)
Why were the jebusites destroyed? These people belonged to the nephilim tribes (the product of the sons of god mingling with the daughters of Adam, the great Biblical giants, “the fallen ones) and had corrupted and hell bent minds probably beyond redemption.

So the whole bible is one big plan of God bringing man back to fellowship, and He accomplished this through Jesus christ. And finally according to the book of revelation, those who are born again will inherit the city prepared by God Himself. Praise God.:):):)
