Is yours just ZD30DD (N.A) or ZD30DDT(i) the turbo version? If the latter, what oil do you use?

ZD 30DDTi CRD(Common rail). I usually use Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 Fully Synthetic

I made this choice last week. I went for Hiace 3000cc diesel auto at 2.3M. The Nissan is cheaper at 1.7M. Both are a work horse but Toyota beats Nissan in perfomance. Speed ya 7l wacha tu Ksm-Nai 5 hrs or less. Inapenda mlima sana. The Nissan is lazy na haipendi haraka ya dereva.

Using’oe hadi ile siku italeta shida. If and when it does, utaona ikiwasha taa ya emissions and/or check engine plus a reduction in engine power etc etc. For some, you can regenerate. For those that refuse to, then you decat and fit an emulator.

Very high chances that it’s getting clogged. Get an engine diagnosis done and the issue rectified before it ‘chokes’ your engine.

Yes it does. Hiyo ikiwa clogged ndiyo it’ll mess up your engine. I’ve seen it happen to a few already.

However, let a proper computerized diagnosis confirm for you what the issue really is. It could be that the catalytic converter requires ‘regeneration’ which is a simple thing. Don’t interfere with the muffler just yet.

PS: The emulator also goes for around 15k.

Yap I have opted for an emulator as a lasting solution…currently at Kirinyaga road
