Normal engines air and fuel mix before entering the combustion chamber.

In CGI,fuel is directly injected into the combustion chamber.

That is the simplest way I can put it.

Other non CDI diesel engines have a normal injector pump that provides let’s say x pressure to the injector nozzles.

In CDI you have a high pressure pump that generates 3x pressure to electrically controlled injector nozzles.

With high pressure diesel inakuwa more vaporized so you get better fuel consumption,better fuel air mixture and complete combustion which leads to more cleaner exhaust as compared to the non CDI.
