Have we forgotten about Libya?

Venezuela is in the same boat but not as rocky. We did nothing for Libya but we can do something for the Venezuelan people and ensure that they get to vote in the upcoming elections… Than the sponsored regime change America and its peers are promoting.

The elections will provide the same results as what the US wants. Especially if Venezuelans abroad get to vote. The problem is that Maduro has entrenched himself.He will not leave without a fight.
Libya is not the same as Venezuela. In Libya, the US was blind to the fact that a Libya without Gadaffi would fall to Islamists. That applies to all of the Middle East.Better to leave the dictators in place because the alternative is much much worse.
Venezuela had long been ruled by moderates and right wing governments for over a century. It is not like Venezuelans are religious fundamentalists who will set up a regime that sponsors terror wlike what happened in Iran, Afghanistan and Libya.
You are comparing two nations with completely different cultures and experience of democracy. Venezuela prospered under the capitalists, but the lower class wanted a shortcut to riches that Chavez offered(failing to take not of how socialism had failed in Mexico and all of Central America) instead of taking advantage of Venezuela’s education system(the best in South America at the time) and move up the social ladder.

It’s time we charted our own history without fear. The threat of sanctions is weak compared to the might of diplomacy Kenya shares with the rest of the continent.

The day we start inventing is the day we can chart our own history.

Let’s not try and pivot this into religious fundamentalism and the cause for jihad. They’re not related this is strictly about defending the rule of law. Instead of going with the flow with what America and its peers are trying to achieve in Venezuela.

How can Guaido name himself president by using Venezuelan MP’s who are in the opposition? It similar to a degree the same spectacle Raila did in Uhuru Park. With America and it’s peers backing it which is a recipe of chaos on a population already suffering from biting hyperinflation. The perfect powder keg.

Venezuelan reforms will happen to restructure its economy and leave behind the over reliance of oil. Which has exposed them seeing that they’re the founding members of OPEC.
