Personally I have a rule where if a close friend or family with serious illness who keeps being admitted to hospital frequently, I usually tell myself to accept sooner or later this person would pass. I try to my best of my ability to prepare myself emotionally that the end is near. From my experience, if it eventually happens I have realized I never get an emotional shock. I Hope what I have said will help a talker in future. I have done it and I Know it works
