People mistake hacking for social engineering. Knowing your mother’s maiden name or phone number are easy ways of getting access into FB. even more so since people never log out on their comps. Assuming you have logged out just because you have closed the window.
For whatsapp, its just matter of getting hold of the whatsapp message .db files. its not hacking, its simple stuff if you know what you are looking for.
