Its also too heavy when hot and engine will definitely wear. the second one is a multigrade oil and is safe but not the best anyway. 10w30 or 5w30 would have been the best but its very expensive when sold at petrol station. shell w30 five litres Goes for ksh6000 and they dont stock it too much because it doesnt sell. Toyota sells its imported 5w30 at ksh 1850 for four litres in a tin can.

But ukiweza next time try a synthetic oil . They have better benefits like cleaning your engine off soot deposits and metallic sediments

No they are not .
SAE markings denote the viscosity at low and high temperatures ( engine start and running engine )
API markings give the service ratings and for motor engines this is the most important marking

Always buy oil from recognized outlets kama petrol stations. Hii ingine huku kwa roadside garage utapata recycled one.

Parts zenye hunipeleka mbio ni za minor service mostly fuel filter,oil filter na spark plugs.Shock usibuy original za BMW hizo ni expe, nunua za Bosch or Bliestein.Both companies have been contracted by BMW to make spare parts on their behalf.Shocks za one series miupata na 18k pair.Za 3 series napata na 22k pair.Minor service ya one series ni around 30k after 10k Kms.Parts sio expensive.Just make sure you dont miss service.Niliwai x5 ya 2010 model juzi but haijaniletea shida hata service haijafika.
Good thing about bimmas and other European cars is that ma side mirror haziibiwi ovyo ovyo.Even if iki ibiwa utapata kwa yards za spareparts industrial area ama kariobangi.Problem is that wanauza expensive.When I bought the 3 series I pranged it on the second day.Nilikua nauziwa bonnet second hand for ksh70,000.Ilibidi I import for ksh28k.Headlamp ya LED second hand ati nilikua nauziwa 65k,got it online for 20k.
Parts za service pia sio expe but mech ananishow I take extra care ya exhaust.
Na prefer one series juu ndio nilianza nayo na iko super reliable.I leave home at 430am daily kuenda Kitengela daily before coming back to Nai by 10am for the rest of bizz.Everyday it covers 90kms bila complaints.3 series ni ya kumangamanga kiasi out of town.Naitumia occasionally.
In general,ukibuy,weka insurance comprehensive immediately.Parts za service sio expe but other body parts zinauzwa expe na cartels hapa Kenya.

Zote Mbili ni API SL . They have same API classification for a petrol engine therefore little difference between the two . They are multigrades - Maybe you could try going higher to a synthetic product . Both companies offer synthetic engine oils for a few shillings above the price of the multi grade . Try the Total 5w40 .
