This brand was once valued at 50B plus but they were seeking 7.7B last year and the potential investor was seeking 51pc stake in the chain which the family couldn’t hear of and that’s why the deal failed to go through. Most probably the valuation was grossly exaggerated.
Hopefully someone with huge financial muscle or a PE will inject some funds in there and save it from extinction. At the same time it needs to serve as an eye opener to all local companies that you cannot fill all the senior positions in your company with inept family members and compatriots( Indians in this case) and expect quality in output and management. This chain was being run like a village shop,still is.
